Begin construction ceremony of gas pipeline OMon-Lot B 
On the morning of november 28, in Phuoc Thoi Ward, O Mon District, Can Tho City - Petro Vietnam Group (PVN) solemnly held a ceremony to launch construction of gas pipeline O Mon Lot B, a key project of oil and gas industry in the South Western.
Attending the ceremony are Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng - Prime Minister together with the leaders of the ministry, as well as leaders of provinces in Cuu Long Delta.
On the PVN are Mr Dinh La Thang - the Party Centre’ member, Chairman of PVN; Phung Dinh Thuc – General Director of PVN and the members of PVN’ BOM.
Known as, the gas pipeline project O Mon Lot B has a total length of nearly 400 km, passing through Can Tho City and provinces of Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau. Once completed in 2013, will have a capacity of transporting gas volume of about 18.3 million m3 / day from the South West sea providing to the electricity projects in Can Tho and Ca Mau with the needs of gas born in the southwest. Total investment for this project are about $ 1 billion USD.
The construction of this key projects confirmed again the pioneer role of oil and gas industry in stabilizing energy security, thereby contributing to industrial development in the Mekong Delta, saving a large amount of foreign currency for the country.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister also gave to PVN’ leadership a decision No. 1034/QD TTg about taking on November 27 every year as "The traditional day of Vietnam Oil and Gas industry".
