PVFC joined with PetroVietnam to visit Angola and Sudan Implementation of the policy to expand cooperation to other countries in Africa, with the permission of the Prime Minister, the delegation of PVN leading by Mr. Dinh Thang, member of Central Party Committee - Chairman of PVN visits Angola and then last stop in Sudan, visit and work with the Ministries and National Oil and Gas Corporation to expand the investment of PetroVietnam to this two countries. PVFC’ General Director and Chairman also participated as a member of the mission.
In Angola, the delegation had working with Chairman cum General Director of the Angola National Oil and Gas Corporation; and Minister of Ministry of Angola’ Petroleum. Participants also Mr. Pham Tien Nhien, the Ambassador of Vietnam in Angola.
During this visit, on the afternoon of Dec 3rd, 2009, at the Headquarters of the Angola National Oil and Gas Corporation in Luanda, the Chairman of Sonangol and PetroVietnam agreed to cooperate in the oil and gas sector, facilitate expansion of investment of PetroVietnam and Sonangol in Oil and Gas’ exploration in Angola, Vietnam and third countries; In December 2009 the two parties will sign cooperation agreement between PetroVietnam and Sonangol. Followings, on February 2010, President and CEO of Sonangol will visit and work with Petrovietnam to implement this agreement specified oil and gas contract.
In Sudan, the last stop of the trip, the delegation was in turn working with General Director of the National Oil and Gas Corporation; meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Sudan Energy & Mines cum Chairman of Sudapet.
On 07/12/2009, at the Headquarters of the Sudan National Oil and Gas Corporation in Khartoum, the PetroVietnam signed cooperation agreements with Sudapet in the oil and gas field, facilitate expansion of investment of PetroVietnam and Suddapet in exploration of Oil and Gas in Sudan, Vietnam and third countries. After signing the cooperation agreement, Sudapet referring the opportunities to invest in the Oil exploration in Sudan. The two sides agreed in January 2010 to discuss specifically on the oil and gas contract of PetroVietnam in Sudan.
Through this visit, the opportunity to expand cooperation and investment of PetroVietnam is also a premise for successful implementation of PVFC’ mission in arrange capital for key projects of the Group, setting a firm step on the journey "reaching to the sea" of the Corporation.
